JOS vznikl v roce 2008 a chce navázat na činnost Okrašlovacího spolku v Jilemnici v 19. a v první polovině 20. století. Jeho cílem je přispívat ke zkrášlování podkrkonošské krajiny zejména ošetřením a obnovou zanedbaných a poničených památek. Chce také napravovat chyby způsobené bezohledností a pohrdáním kulturním dědictvím našich předků.
